We buy machines in all conditions, but the ugliest ones receive a breath of new life with a full restoration and new paint colors.
F ull restorations are a lengthy process. We test and mechanically repair every machine BEFORE we begin the restoration process to make sure it is already a great “ugly” sewing machine. Then we fully disassemble the entire Featherweight to begin the stripping and paint prepping procedure. Painting the machine is a multi-stage process with a primer, base coat, adding decals or custom paint, and finally a strong automotive clear coat to give it that shine. After the machines are reassembled, tested, and tuned up, there are more than 15 hours of hands-on time on each machine. And that doesn’t even count dry and cure time.
How Much Do They Cost?
Other than “What are these things?” you probably want to know what they cost. We have a range of pricing that starts with some restored original black Featherweights for $595.00. Painted Featherweights start at $1,195.00 and go up from there based on machine and paint options. We also have special rare machines like 222’s, black side machines, centennial machines, etc available from time to time.
Inventory changes regularly so we ask that you call or email for current inventory and pricing.
